Therapy for stress, change, and feeling stuck

Individual Therapy for Adults & Young Adults

In Denver, Colorado + Online in PSYPACT States

Is your life working on the outside but feeling heavy or off on the inside? I work with people who tend to be highly responsible and high‑achieving, often anxious and doing a lot on their own, yet quietly feel overwhelmed.

You may be moving through trauma, ongoing stress, or patterns of thinking and relating that once helped you cope but aren’t working anymore. Our time together will focus on gaining clarity and living in a way that feels true to you, so you can make choices that support both stability and meaningful change.

I’m guided by compassion, empowerment, and integrity. My priority is that you have a relationship where you can be honest about your experience without feeling pressure to perform, please, or protect me.

I often meet people at the point when what has kept them going no longer feels sustainable. Something in you may be ready for a different way, even if you’re not sure what that looks like yet.

What we may explore together

Adults often come in with questions about relationships, work, parenting, health, and the impact of past experiences. Many are also trying to make sense of why they feel and react the way they do, especially in their closest relationships. Together, we might explore:

  • Relationship challenges and changes (partners, friends, or family)
  • High‑pressure or high‑stakes careers, including burnout and chronic stress
  • Physician wellness and the emotional impact of medical practice
  • Parenting at all stages, including the emotional load of caring for children or teens
  • Medical challenges, including the emotional impact of chronic or complex health issues on you and your family
  • Trauma and PTSD, including childhood or relational trauma and experiences of sexual harm or boundary violations
  • Grief and loss, including complicated or traumatic grief
  • ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence, including feeling scattered, disorganized, or easily overstimulated
  • Identity shifts at all stages of life, including post‑college and early adulthood through retirement transitions
  • Anxiety, chronic worry, and depression, including feeling numb or “going through the motions”
  • Loneliness and disconnection, even when life looks “full” from the outside
  • Reproductive and perinatal challenges, including fertility, pregnancy, birth, loss, and postpartum
  • Feeling like you’ve been carrying too much responsibility for too long, without much room to be fully seen

You may recognize yourself in one or more of these areas, or you may feel worn down, flooded, or not quite like yourself without knowing exactly why. It can be hard to ask for what you truly need, especially when you’re used to focusing on what you can keep managing.

Therapy offers a place to slow down, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and begin making choices that reflect what matters most to you. Many people I work with have demanding personal or professional lives and are used to handling a lot on their own. They’re often looking for therapy that feels more connected and usable in their daily lives.

How I work

I have advanced training in both psychodynamic and behavioral therapies, and my practice is grounded in evidence‑based approaches. In practice, this means we’ll pay attention to both your current patterns and the experiences that shaped them. We’ll also look toward specific changes you can try between sessions.

Our sessions will be tailored to who you are and what you are navigating. This may include exploring past experiences, practicing new ways of relating to yourself and others, and noticing how stress and emotion show up in your body. Together, we will be curious about what is no longer serving you.

We will look for options that don’t require you to turn against yourself to keep things going, even if that pattern has helped you get this far.

This is an interactive process. You bring your lived experience and your own sense of what feels true for you, and I bring clinical expertise and an attuned, reliable presence. We will move at a pace that respects both your need for solid ground and your wish for things to be different. I will be straightforward about what I notice, always with care and never with judgment.

What to expect when getting started

We’ll begin with a 15‑minute phone consultation so I can learn more about what’s bringing you in and you can ask any questions you have. If it feels like the right match, we’ll schedule a first session and start in a way that feels manageable for you.

In‑person and online options

I work with adults and young adults in Denver, Colorado, and online in participating PSYPACT states. Many people I work with live outside Colorado, and meeting online can offer the same presence and care as in‑person sessions, with the added flexibility of meeting from home or work.

Couples therapy for communication and connection

My primary focus is on individual therapy. In addition to my work with adults, I offer limited couples therapy for partners who want to strengthen their relationship, shift unhelpful patterns, and feel more supported by each other. I reserve couples work for situations that are a good fit for my approach and current availability.

Some couples see me to focus on their relationship as a whole. Others seek support around how stressors such as work, health, or parenting have affected their partnership. These sessions focus on your relationship. I pay close attention to each of your experiences and the larger context you’re living in. Neither person has to be “the problem” for us to create change.

Couples may seek support around:

  • feeling out of sync in communication, needs, expectations, or decision‑making
  • recurring conflicts about limits, boundaries, or household and parenting responsibilities
  • interaction patterns that leave you feeling criticized, shut down, alone, or unable to repair after past hurts or disconnection

In our sessions, we look closely at the patterns between you that keep repeating. From there, we explore and practice new ways of relating that feel more workable, respectful, and connected over time.

Questions you may have

You may be wondering whether we’d be a good fit, what my training is, or what might be different if therapy hasn’t felt helpful in the past. You can read more about my background, approach, and fees on the FAQ page, or bring your questions to our consultation so we can talk them through together.
